Energy Audit / Home Energy Use Improvements
Concerned about excessive home heating bills? Contact us and we will carry out an energy audit of your property. An energy audit will identify areas of the property such as draughts around windows and doors and levels of attic insulation where draught stripping and increasing the insulation cover between ceiling joists can significantly reduce heat losses. We can also provide comprehensive advice on all forms of renewable energy such as solar water heating and recoverable heat pumps.
Infrared thermography can be used to identify cold spots on external building elevations where insulation may be absent or to highlight thermal bridging. It can also be used as part of an air pressure test to identify locations such as the underside of skirting boards or at window reveals where significant air infiltration can occur. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
Air Pressure Testing
Since the 1st of July 2008 dwellings applying for planning permission will legally require an Air Pressure Test when constructed. Air pressure testing identifies the location and quantifies the rate of leakage within a property. Only air permeability of less than 10m³/(h.m²) will be considered acceptable under the Conservation of Fuel and Energy – Dwellings 2007.
ber.ie carry out air pressure testing on behalf of developers and private individuals. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
